The Painted River Project 2023

Celebrating water through arts, culture & science

BAMM, in collaboration with Western Sydney University and Monash Sustainable Development Institute, proudly presents The Painted River Project Moree 2023.

Following the success of events in 2021 and 2022, The Painted River Project is back for its third installment, evolving into an expanded weekend of site-specific "en plein air" art and science sessions to be held at local riverside locations highlighting Moree’s unique landscape, agriculture and water life.

The Painted River Project is an art, science and cultural initiative that creates space for diverse community members to share knowledge and build understanding of how we live with the natural world. The project aims to nurture transformative thinking and collective action around one of Australia's most contested topics - water.

Locals and visitors are invited to attend Mary Brand Park on Saturday 1 April to enjoy a morning of art and science on the banks of the Mehi river. Throughout the day there will be a range of activities including artist talks, science experiments, painting demonstrations and workshops. All are welcome to attend this unique event and be immersed in a creative, cultural day in a beautiful riverside location.
